Sweet J is a Jersey bred Pop/R&B singer, songwriter, and producer. After the divorce of his parents at a very young
age, Sweet J found himself listening to the likes of Michael Jackson, Boyz II Men, Brian McKnight and Backstreet Boys as an escape into another world. For Sweet J music was more as a form of expression and a getaway from reality.
He started playing piano and writing songs at the age of 15. By 17, he began performing at venues across New Jersey including the famous Stone Pony in Asbury Park. As time went on, Sweet J, started writing and creating beats for other artists including selling tracks to singers in Canada and Europe. His demo “You’re Not Alone”, which was written for a multiplatinum group, was viewed by people all around the world on Youtube and was awarded as one of the most discussed videos.
Sweet J’s first release, Sex, Love, Pain & Hope, is a concept record that describes all the intricate phases of a relationship from start to finish. Each song represents certain points that make up the album title. His upcoming release titled Love Cocaine is an album that can be described as The-Dream meets Backstreet Boys. A record that features a throwback 90s vibe, hard hitting Hip-Hop beats, catchy Pop melodies, futuristic synths, and beautiful balladry. Tracks like the infectiously bouncy, bump and grind first single “Don’t Stop”, the Justin Timberlake, FutureSexLoveSounds inspired “You Only Want Me” and the spacey serene “Gravity” take the listener on a passionate journey through the life of the artist.
For this awe inspiring performer, 2014 proved to be a very busy year. Sweet J was seen playing at fairs, restaurants and other venues all across New Jersey. He circuited as a constant performer in Flemington’s ongoing summer festival Thursday Night Lights and has high hopes of taking on the rest of the music world by storm.
